How it works

  2. Fixed fee proposal: Clear outline of what's included and the fee before work starts.

  3. Site visit and design: We visit the property, assess the structure, and produce the calculations and drawings.

  4. Issue and support: You receive a complete structural package for your builder and Building Control.

We provide structural engineering for residential and small commercial projects. Our designs are produced to current UK standards (Eurocodes), checked for buildability, and written in plain English.

  1. Home Extensions & Loft Conversions
    Structural design for single and two-storey extensions, dormers, and mansards. Includes steel beam specification, floor joist strengthening, and Building Control packages.

  2. Wall Removals & Steel Beam Design
    Confirmation of load-bearing walls, steel beam sizing, padstone details, and goalpost frame design where a single beam isn't viable. We ensure your builder has designs they can price and build from safely.

  3. Retaining Wall Design
    Structural design for retaining walls up to 2m high. Includes assessment of surcharge and ground conditions, footing design, and crucially, drainage and backfill specification (the most common cause of retaining wall failure).

  4. Structural Inspections & Reports
    Site inspection of cracks, movement, sagging roofs or failing walls. Clear written reports with photographs and practical recommendations for repair or monitoring.

  5. Building Control Support
    Calculations and drawings formatted for Building Control submission, plus responses to queries and amendments where site conditions differ from the original design
